Optimist Yachiting

On the 17th of November, we went to Pandora Pond (A local estury that's actually quite a lot bigger than a pond) and we sailed some Optimist Yachts. I am quite good at it, because a couple of years ago I did a course on Opti sailing. To start off with, it was too windy to sail the boats, as they cant handle more than 15 knots, so we used oars to paddle them. About halfway through our sailing time the wind slowed down, and we got to put the sails up. Then me and my mate Marcus, who's also a gun at sailing, went in a boat together, and when our class had a race we won, and when we crossed the finished the others ha just got to halfway! Then in the afternoon we went to Kiwi Adventure co. and did some rock climbing through the afternoon.

Newspaper Poem

This is a poem in which we had to cut letters, words, and sentences out of a newspaper. Her's my one about cars.

Haiku Poem

In class at the moment we are writing poems. This one is a haiku poem, which comes from Japan, and is traditionally about nature and natural things. They have three lines, with 5 syllables in the first and last, and 7 in the middle. Here are two examples that I wrote.

The Coast
As the wind howls by
And the trees whimper and moan
Waves crash in the night

Vulnerable
On a sunny day
A leaf is tossed in the wind
It has no defence

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside

200 points signed off!!

Today, the 2nd of November, I completed my goal of scoring 200 points in my diary. I now officially have the highest number of points in the history of this school. This is big for me as the person who has the next most is only on 117! I am now the best all rounder in this school. Yoohoo!
